Resources Wish List

A resilient, just, ecological food system requires a lot of resources, materials and equipment. Can you help?
Please take a look at the lists below. If there is anything you could help us with, we would very much appreciate it!
You can click on the “I want to help” button and send us a message.

Our Wish List of Needs & Desires

In-Kind (Stuff)

  • A minivan or bus: So we can transport Food Corps teams to and from work sites and deliver food to communities.
  • PPE: Mainly, masks to help protect Food Corps members as they travel and work from site to site and during training. But PPE may include other things like gloves and sanitizers.
  • Hats, rubber boots, work gloves, handkerchiefs & water bottles (Basic Work Kit): We know sometimes it’s hard to get even the basics in life, so we want to be able to offer rubber boots, hats, work gloves and water bottles (at the very least) to those Food Corps members who can’t otherwise get them.
  • Storage space: We need storage space for materials, equipment, food and records.

I want to help

In-Time (Skills & Labour)

  • Administration: We need people to help us administer:
    • The Eco-Just Food Time Bank
    • The Food Corps Program
    • The Eco-Just Human Dialogues
  • Trainers: We need people who have food production and processing skills to help train Food Corps members.
  • Drivers: We need people who can help us drive our minivan and/or bus.
  • Graphic design: We need social media branding stuff to help us get noticed and be remembered.
  • Photography: We need someone to take nice pictures of the people in the network and what we do.
  • Videography: We need someone to take really nice videos of what we do.
  • IT: We need someone to help us with our IT system (our software universe).

Money….Always Money!

It’s a bummer but we do need cash. Here are the things we’d love to spend it on:

  • Software subscriptions: We are trying to stick to the free applications, but free trials only last for so long and we are rapidly outgrowing the limitations of the free plans. To help us be more efficient time-wise as well as more effective in our efforts, we need to have access to software and things such as (for example) webhosting, domain name, basecamp, airtable, action network, zapier, zoom, mailchimp, etc.
  • Gas: This is a painful necessity…for now.
  • Marketing: As in social media campaigns (e.g. FB ads) and ads in rural magazines.
  • Honourariums: We are asking farmers to spend their time and resources to train city slickers on farm work. We’re really grateful to them and would like to give them a little something in return.
